For Claude, ChatGPT and other AI assistants

Ask your AI assistant about UK prices

DealComparer runs a free, read-only MCP server (Model Context Protocol, the standard AI assistants use for connectors). Add it once and your assistant can look up the same live UK prices, delivery costs, stock and price history you see on this site, with a link back to the page each answer came from.

Connector address

https://dealcomparer.com/api/mcp

No account, key or sign-in needed. Transport: Streamable HTTP.

Add to Claude

  1. In Claude (web or desktop), open Settings → Connectors.
  2. Choose Add custom connector.
  3. Name it “DealComparer” and paste https://dealcomparer.com/api/mcp as the URL. Leave authentication empty.
  4. Save, then switch DealComparer on in a chat from the tools menu.

Custom connectors depend on your Claude plan; on Team and Enterprise an owner may need to add it first. In Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http dealcomparer https://dealcomparer.com/api/mcp

Add to ChatGPT

  1. In ChatGPT, open Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced settings and turn on Developer mode.
  2. Back in Apps & Connectors, choose Create.
  3. Name it “DealComparer”, paste https://dealcomparer.com/api/mcp as the MCP server URL and pick No authentication.
  4. In a new chat, add DealComparer from the + menu (Developer mode) and ask away.

Developer mode and connectors depend on your ChatGPT plan and may be labelled differently as ChatGPT changes.

What it can look up

  • Search UK products search_products

Find products sold by UK shops by name, model number or barcode, e.g. 'samsung soundbar', 'dyson v15', 'bosch serie 4 dishwasher under 500'. Returns each product's cheapest live UK price (total incl. delivery where the shop supplies it), the number of shops compared, the product slug for the other tools and the dealcomparer.com URL to cite.

  • Compare UK shop prices get_prices

Every UK shop's current price for one product: item price, delivery cost, total, stock, delivery time when the shop supplies it, and when each price was checked. Sorted by total incl. delivery. Amazon prices are never included (Amazon's terms).

  • 60-day price history get_price_history

A product's recorded daily lowest price at each UK shop over the last 60 days, and whether each shop's price today is low, normal or high versus that shop's own history. Also returns DealComparer's 'Good price?' verdict as shown on the product page.

  • Is this a good deal? check_deal

Is a price a genuine deal? Judges a given price (or each shop's current price) against the same shop's own prices over the previous 60 days, never against a 'was' price: real deal (60-day low), below usual, same as usual, or higher than usual. Use for Black Friday and sale claims.

  • UK price gaps get_price_gaps

How much the same product (matched by barcode) differs in price between UK shops today: products compared, the typical gap between cheapest and dearest shop (delivery included), gaps by category and the biggest gaps. Optional category, e.g. 'tvs-home-cinema' or 'home appliances'.

  • Gift ideas under a budget find_gifts

Gift ideas under a budget in pounds for her, him or anyone: hand-picked gifts (price shown at the shop) plus products compared across 2+ UK shops (with today's lowest price). Each has a short reason and a dealcomparer.com URL.

Things to ask

  • “What's the cheapest UK price for the Samsung HW-B650F soundbar, including delivery?”
  • “Is £199 a good price for this at Hughes, or has it been cheaper in the last 60 days?”
  • “Show me the price history for the Dyson V15 at each UK shop.”
  • “Which TVs have the biggest price gap between UK shops today?”
  • “Gift ideas for her under £20.”

What the data is, and isn't

  • The same comparison data this site shows: UK retailers' own product feeds, refreshed daily. Prices include VAT and each one says when we checked it.
  • Read-only. The connector can't buy anything, store anything about you or change anything on the site.
  • Amazon prices are never given (Amazon's terms), and marketplace (eBay) listings are left out.
  • “Good deal” checks compare a price with the same shop's own prices over the previous 60 days, never a “was” price. See the Real Deal Tracker for the rules.
  • Ranking is never paid for. We may earn a commission if you buy through a link, which never changes the price or the order. Always check the final price on the retailer's site.
  • Please cite the dealcomparer.com link in each answer. Light use only: requests are rate-limited per connection.
